What’s New in Sugar Sell 25.1: Five Features Manufacturers Will Appreciate
At TCP, we always evaluate SugarCRM updates through the lens of our manufacturing customers. The April 2025 release of Sugar Sell 25.1 is packed with thoughtful improvements that make everyday tasks easier, from field service to account management.

Here are five new or enhanced features in 25.1 that stand out to us—and why they’re worth your time.
1. See the Last Engagement at a Glance
The new Last Engagement Summary field is one of the most useful additions we’ve seen in a while. It automatically shows the most recent meeting, call, or email related to any Account, Contact, or Opportunity.
Why it matters: No more asking “When did we last talk to this customer?” or digging through separate call, meeting, or email activity logs. Your reps (or SugarCRM automation) will know immediately if it’s time to follow up. For manufacturers with long sales cycles or key accounts that need regular check-ins, this is a game-changer. It brings visibility, consistency, and better timing—all without lifting a finger.
2. Package Builder & Deployer: A Sugar Administrator’s New Best Friend
If you’ve ever dreaded moving configurations or logic from a sandbox into production, Sugar just made your life easier. The new Package Builder & Deployer allows admins and partners to bundle up changes and deploy them automatically and with confidence.
Why it’s great: Manufacturers are always optimizing their processes and adding functionality to Sugar. This allows you to design in the sandbox and automatically migrate it to your production instance. It’s a cleaner, safer way to evolve your CRM system as your processes change.
3. Generate PowerPoint Decks with Doc Merge
Good news for anyone who’s tried to create professional presentations from Sugar records: Doc Merge supports PowerPoint (PPTX) templates and the 25.1 provides an important enhancement to make it more useful.Related (nested) records are now handled in the merge to render more complex information.
Why it’s useful: Need to generate customer-ready business review decks, product presentations, or support case review slides from CRM data? It’s now a few clicks away. This saves hours of manual formatting and ensures consistent, brand-approved slides across the sales team.
4. Cleaner Reports with “Show Distinct Results”
One-to-many relationships (like one account with multiple quotes) used to cause headaches in reports by listing the same record multiple times. Now, you can check a box in the report builder to show only distinct records.
Why this rocks: Sales leaders can now build accurate “Accounts without Opportunities” or “Customers with Late Shipments” reports without Excel workarounds. Cleaner reports lead to clearer actions—and fewer surprises at the quarterly review.
5. CloudDrive on Mobile: Docs When and Where You Need Them
For reps and techs in the field, the mobile app just got a serious upgrade. Sugar’s CloudDrive integration now works beautifully on mobile—meaning users can pull up SharePoint documents right inside the app. Even better, they can initiate DocuSign signatures on the spot.
Imagine a service tech reviewing a warranty claim on-site, pulling up the original order spec, and getting the customer to sign off on repair terms—all from their phone. It’s fast, professional, and fully traceable.
Bottom Line
Sugar Sell 25.1 - it’s useful. It’s packed with features that streamline work, reduce errors, and help manufacturing teams respond faster and smarter. If you want to see these features in action, TCP’s ready to show you. Let’s talk.
